The MUDS is great in the car, to hang on a wheelchair, bedside or chair.
It will help prevent:
spilling of urine
falls related to urgency
soiling of casts, wounds, clothes, and bed linens
unncessary use of diapers
infection related to need for a invsive catheter due to inability to use a urinal
The MUDS will also decrease the additional costs associated with all of the above issues.
The MUDS is a gravity system with a drip lip and specific angles and curves to promote drainage of urine and deter spills.
The device is designed to seat against the pubic area forming a light seal (not too tight, to prevent suction and decreased drainage).
The receiving unit is attached to flexible tubing and drains into a container that can be hung on the bed frame, wheelchair, chair, or can be set in the floor without spilling.
The holder attaches to the rail of the bed and provides a sanitary place to secure the MUDS when not in use, keeping the urine off of the bedside table where food and drink are kept.
Males who are continent, but unable to use a urinal or other product are using the MUDS with great success and with little instruction required. Just a little practice.
